FAQ
What roast should I do?
With cold brew, the darker you go, the more body/texture. Medium-dark roasts will retain more of the flavor notes compared to dark roast
 
Should I get it dark to get the most caffeine?
There is no significant caffeine level difference based on roasts
 
How many 10oz cups of coffee will a 6.5oz bag make with the Coffee Bear?

I don't have a grinder. What can I use?
To get a consistent extra-coarse grind for cold-brew, a conical burr grinder is great. They range from $50-$100, it doesn't need to be expensive for making cold brew.
Avoid using blade grinders because the inconsistency of the grounds isn't ideal for cold brew. This can lead to fine grounds making it through the mesh filter, making the cold brew grainy.
 
Can I use other coffee using the Coffee Bear?
Of course and I do it myself with the different coffee we have! Feel free to experiment. People are afraid of messing up cold brew for the first time. We get that, we did too when we first started. That's why with our kit and recipe, you can be assured of making great cold brew at home that you can share, or not...
